The 10-Gigabit
XENPAK transceiver is a static-sensitive device. Always use an ESD wrist strap or similar individual grounding device when handling the
XENPAK transceivers or coming into contact with the modules.
If you are removing a 10-Gigabit XENPAK transceiver, follow these steps:
Step 1 Disconnect the network fiber-optic cable from the
10-Gigabit XENPAK transceiver connectors. Immediately reinstall the dust plugs in the XENPAK transceiver optical bores and the fiber-optic cable SC connectors.
Step 2 Loosen the two captive installation screws that secure the XENPAK to the module.
Step 3 Slide the XENPAK transceiver out of the module socket. (See Figure 5) Immediately place the XENPAK transceiver in an antistatic bag.
